Hello friends!
I'll be performing in AMERICAN VOICES: Spirit of Revolution for
two performances at the Broad Theatre on Sunday, August 10th. The times
are 4pm and 7:30pm - and tickets are free!
( But they are selling out
quickly)
This is the inaugural
show for the Broad Theatre - a beautiful, modern, 500 seat theatre that is part
of the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center. You can find
directions on their website: http://www.thebroadstage.com/
The show will feature me and
12 other actors: including Dustin Hoffman, Annette Bening, James
Cromwell, Rosario Dawson, and Richard Schiff.
American Voices:
Spirit of Revolution will explore the drive for innovation behind our
Constitution and for a maverick conception of music that could have only
happened in America.
The great
American Composer Charles Ives (1874-1954) wrote miniatures, songs and
symphonies inspired by the sights and sounds of his day. Kent
Nagano, conductor of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and music
director of the Bavarian State Opera, has selected Ives' excerpts for chamber
orchestra interwoven with spoken text read by actors.
