From Saturday evening, January 16th through February 21st, the NoHo Arts Center in North Hollywood hosts Proof (winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama and Tony Award for Best Play) starring Teal Sherer, an actress with a disability. Teal has the honor of being the first actress with a disability to play this part. The talented cast also includes Ryan Douglas, Brad Blaisdell, and Colleen Foy; directed by Bob Morrisey.
Proof is about Catherine, the daughter of Robert, a recently deceased mathematical genius and professor at the University of Chicago, and her struggle with mathematical genius and mental illness.
Teal Sherer is an L.A. based actor, writer, and activist for performers with disabilities. She is also Producing Director for Blue Zone Theater, an L.A. company founded by and for actors with disabilities. Blue Zone's mission is to create new opportunities for artists and audiences to enjoy theatre and to build bridges between disabled and able-bodied communities.
